Rooiberg Lodge nestles neatly between land and sky, offering views of both and adventures in between.
— NATURE DRIVES —
Our knowledgeable staff would love to show you around the farm so why not book a drive, or try a self-drive, either early in the morning, or in the late afternoon. A range of buck, birds and even a giraffe or two can be spotted, while the natural vegetation is fascinating: centuries old ghwarrie trees; ancient “waboom” proteas; a spekboom forest and over 3000 indigenous succulent plant species.
Note the ruins of shepherd huts dotted in the veld. Spare a thought for these isolated folk of yesteryear who tended their sheep in blistering heat and torrential rain with not much in the way of food and home comforts, with perhaps weekly rations of bread, coffee and a little sugar.

— NATURE DRIVE —
Meet our guide at reception for a morning or an afternoon nature drive to explore what the Klein Karoo has to offer. With a coffee or drink stop along the way enjoying nature and the fresh air.

— WALKS AND TRAILS —
There are unending kilometres of roads, tracks and paths, through beautiful lush vegetation with spectacular views.
Ask our staff for advice on which route to take.

— OLIVE TOUR —
There is a walking trail around the olive grove, but a tour of the state-of-the-art olive processing plant is really something special.

— STAR GAZING —
The Karoo night sky is legendary. Far from the interference of city lights and industrial pollution, the stars are at their brightest and most beautiful at night in this isolated slice of paradise.

— GIN PLATTER —
There’s nothing better after a dusty day in the bush, than a tall, frosty gin & tonic served on our expansive deck.
The art of mixing the ultimate gin cocktail is almost a national sport these days. Join in and allow yourself to become a mixologist by combining award wining gins with unusual botanicals and tantalising cordials.
